Scalp symptoms

Has anyone had symptoms that involve your scalp? I have stinging sensations and my scalp is covered with rash that quickly turns to a scab. I cannot put the cream that was given to me by my dermatologist on my scalp. Any suggestions what to do? It is very painful to wash my hair because my scalp burns with the shampoo. I am waiting for my medicine to help with my symptoms but if it doesn't help soon I will have to ask for a change. My scalp is almost to sore to even lay my head on a pillow to go to sleep.

Try Coconut Oil. I got some called Fair Trade at Whole Foods and it helps a bit.

I have DM and years ago I broke out with a lot of sores and they were painful for me, the thing my dermy did was he put me on steroids like 20 mg a day and it helped me a lot they went away before long and the pain of them left. I don't remember them in my hair but I am sure there was some. Good luck hope they can fix you up soon gentle hugs !

Thank you Bethann, I am taking a steroid Hydrochloriquine and my dermatologist gave me a shot the name starts with a k I can't remember the name and I am also using creams prescribed by the dermatologist. Today I feel much better. I guess I have to use a little patients. It has been about a week since I had the shot, I believe it may now be working.

Barnickel you are so right we have to learn patients it is hard when you are in pain I do understand being sick and in pain is hard to live with. So glad you are doing better hang in there it can get better. Hugs !

While I don't have scap issues, in the time that I have had DM, I have developed a slew of allergies to common product ingredients and preservatives. I get painful rashes from a lot of the lotions and cleansers that I used to use. It's a bummer. Sometimes I think that it could be due to taking the immune-suppressants long-term, but I don't know that for sure.
Sorry that you're going through all that!
