Interesting article regarding Myositis Treatment.
There is some pretty interesting stuff in this article, Nichole. First off, did you all know that there are an estimated 15,000 polymyositis patients and 25,000 dermatomyositis patients in the U.S. alone?
Second, the partnership is offering online chats to PM and DM myositis patients to give information about a new clinical trial for a new drug treatment: "Idera plans to initiate a clinical trial of its investigational drug candidate IMO-8400, a first-in-class antagonist of TLRs 7, 8 and 9, in polymyositis and dermatomyositis by the end of 2014."
A new trial, a new potential treatment. This is important, and I hope may be of some material benefit to some of you. We need more options for MYO. Thanks for posting, Nichole!
